      What are Working Papers?

Working Papers are pre-publication versions of academic articles, book chapters, or reviews by faculty and post doctoral fellows associated with the Center for Ethics in Society. Working Papers are offered on this site in the interest of disseminating scholarship that addresses political philosophy and ethics. The Working Papers are not refereed, and may be in various stages of completion.

Papers may be downloaded from this site by individuals, for their own use, subject to the ordinary rules governing fair use of professional scholarship (see further Copyright Statement). Comments on papers or questions about their content should be sent directly to the author at his or her email.

Once a paper has been published elsewhere, it is ordinarily preferable to cite it in its final, published version, rather then it in Working Paper version. When available, publication information will be posted in place of the downloadable version.
